Viewing the Paving Master Plan
In order to be usable by the largest number of users, the Paving Master Plan is available in chapters that are provided as Portable Document Format (PDF) files. These files are read by a free Abobe Reader that is probably already installed on your computer. In the event that your computer does not have the Adobe Reader installed, you can download and install it for free.

Locating and Viewing Project Details with the Query-based Search

The Query-based Project Search provides text boxes that allow you to identify or key in specific attributes that will be used to query the project database. Once you have used the provided fields to construct the desired query, click SUBMIT to send the query to the project database and view the resulting list of projects that match your query.

Once the system returns the list of projects that match your submitted query, you can view brief details about the project status, etc. If more details are available for the listed projects, you can click on the view icon to view the project details page for the selected project.

Locating and Viewing Project Details with the Interactive Map Viewer
The Interactive Map Viewer provides tools that allow you view a graphical representation of Davidson County and the paving projects that are planned for the greater Metro area. Use the Find, Zoom, and/or Pan tools to navigate to an area of interest on the map, then use the selection tools to select the projects that you would like to explore. (Once you have entered the map view, you can use the Map Help to learn how to use the individual map tools available to you.

Please note that some map layers/elements are visible only after zooming in to the appropriate level. This is intentional, and is done to help keep the map from being cluttered with details that are too small to discern at the active scale. If some map elements (roads, projects, etc.) are not visible, zoom in more and they will appear automatically.

Once you have navigated to the desired area of interest, use the selection tools to select the desired map element. The system responds by providing links that will allow you to create and download a movie of the selected location (if available) or view more details for the selected element.

Creating, Downloading, and Watching Movies of Pavement Conditions
Once you have chosen to view a movie of a selected map element, you will be presented with multiple options regarding the desired view (front, side, or down), screen size, graphical resolution, and playback speed of the movie that will be created. Select the desired options for your movie, then click GENERATE MOVIE. The system responds by providing feedback regarding the status of your movie as it is being created, then by providing a link you can use to download the movie for playback on your computer. Once the download link is provided, you can click the link to save the movie on your computer at the location you specify.

Movies are created in AVI format, which requires the Windows Media Player for playback. Most standard Windows computers will have a valid version of Windows Media Player already loaded, but you can download and install the current version of Windows Media Player if you need it.

If you do not have media player codecs installed, please download Codec Installation Package for Windows Media Player.
